Pre-Purchase Inspection
Many people prefer to buy a pre-owned vehicle instead of buying new. The trick is to find a vehicle that is in good condition. With the pre-purchase inspection at Diedrick’s you pay only for the time spent inspecting the vehicle. For example we may find during the initial walk around visual inspection that the vehicle was involved in a major collision. This may be all the information you need to make a decision. In that case you would only pay for the 10 minutes spent. Or you may wish to have a complete inspection done. This inspection could include not only current but possible future problems as well as pattern failures on the vehicle you are considering. We have several options available to perform the level of inspection you wish.
A thorough inspection, performed by a professional is the safest way to determine the vehicle’s condition. The pre-purchase inspection may find several problems. The report issued by the inspector can also be used as bargaining leverage. This may often save you many times the cost of the inspection.
Choosing to only look at certified vehicles is little assurance of quality. These vehicles may simply be a used vehicle with an extended warranty tacked onto the price. Reports that are available without inspecting the vehicle may also be very incomplete. Such reports often only contain information purchased from insurance companies and warranty service providers. A serious collision poorly repaired in a low quality shop could go unreported. These reports may also lack information on any existing conditions that have not been repaired.
